Depending on the field an undergraduate degree will get you $45-60k to start in most cases. In 20 years with inflation then maybe. Working your way up is the path but it’s a competition. If an undergrad is going up against someone with a graduate degree or some sort of professional designation they are at a disadvantage unless their soft skills are superior. While there are not hard and fast rules, companies want the best people and the more education one has the better positioned they are so long as the street smarts and soft skills are there as well.
it’s best to find a mentor to help mold you. Most people are clueless to what it takes to advance up the ladder in business. And many younger people have a sense of entitlement thinking that advancement will naturally come without hard work or effort.
