Anyone able to put up some post-Expo BJ Factories that are up and running? There's a 50/50 chance my trip starts in Shanghai, and a 100% chance I'll have to stop there at some point in March, so it'd be nice to find a nice pump station a la Lolita's in Bangkok. Seems I'm not the only one looking, but even a yes/no as to whether or not some of the establishments mentioned in this thread would be alright.

Went past 1771 this afternoon, to see if ZY were still there. Replaced by a nice, legit looking massage place, the kind you see all over SH, where all you can get is a very good massage.

- Checked the map, asked the bellboy to explain to the taxi driver the exact intersection that is in question.
- We reached there, ZY is literally a stones throw from the intersection
- Went in there today at 5.
- Small black door, enters into a very small 6 counter chaired bar.
- If the owner isnt there, just go in.
- You will reach an intermediate (sitting room). Owner is there in one corner, as the others said, very friendly, also has a small cute pet dog (cannot be a guard dog)
- Got to choose from 2 ladies. both 6-7 ish
- Chose one.
- Went yet further back...now, there is a long mini hall, all clad in black finish and dimly lit - doesnt look dingy or dirty.
- All cublicles are well set in small rooms of 2.25m by 2m, quite spacious. They fit in a 3 seater couch in each.
- Thats it. 300Rmb for BBBJ 400 for FJ.
- Very friendly and experienced lady.
- In hindsight, I think I got the same one as fotomatt.
- I asked her if I could click and she started striking poses etc. (Im sorry but somehow the browser wasnt allowing me to attach the pics)
- One hint is if you like your BBBJ slow and steady and worth more time, dont let her know that you won't be doing the FJ, because then she'll go from 25 to 125kmph in no time to get you done.. lol.

First off - Fotomatt, nice report + with pics too!

ZY is perfectly safe. The owner, makes sure that the authorities are taken care of......like all smart Chinese businessmen. He is also a nice guy. The operation is pretty discrete. The place looks closed even when it is open.

To explain the layout: You walk in and there is about a six seat bar on your right. Going forward, there is an area with booths and tables. Here you can pick a girl, have a few beers, talk, etc. Across the room is another separate room which has about 5 or 6 partitioned cubicles. Each cubicle has a sofa and table. There is plenty of room and a decent amount of privacy. It is kind of dark in there but there is a light in each cubicle.

As for privacy or safety concerns, well there are none. Just like Fotomatt points out, you can worry about a million different things that might happen if you want to. I don't. I am out for a good time. It's not like it's a bus station. The place is never that crowded.

I have been going there for a long time off + on. I was there twice last week when I was in Shanghai. 3 for BJ , 4 for FS. Beers are 20

By the way, I am a Westerner, my Mandarin skills are one level above non-existant and I monger quite a bit by myself in Shanghai. Just use common sense and spend your time reading the forum for tips.

LOL! I could have worried about that.

I could have worried that I’m going to get mugged on the street at night.

I could have even worried that I’m going to get run over by a taxi, too.

However, I’m a member of this site so that I can gauge the danger of such things. I haven’t heard of many western mongers getting arrested at sex establishments in Shanghai, so I chose not to worry about it.

I’ve been mongering around the world most of my adult life and between using condoms, common sense and a little bit of my sixth sense, I’ve never had any significant problems.

If you like worrying a lot and getting other people worried, that’s up to you. However, I would recommend that anyone who is worried about mongering in Shanghai should read through the last year’s worth of posts here and let that that speak for itself.
