I thought I would add some more mongering vocabulary. Barry gave some useful ones in his first post, and I thought I would expand the list.

I've been living in China a few years, and when I first arrived I didn't know any Chinese. I've been studying for awhile now, and can get by most of the time. I know that the language barrier can be hard to overcome, and often keep you from getting what you really want simple because you can't ask for it.

body language is good, and most of the time a simple nod or a shake of the head can be enough. However, body language can only take you so far, and the usual consequence is either a higher price, or not being able to talk your way out of a scam.

I mean have any of you ever tried to pantomime that you want anal to someone? Believe me, its not a turn on.

So I made this list my own list as an easy way to get what your looking for out of your girls. Just copy and paste the Chinese characters in a word processor and print them out. Show them to your girl, and she'll understand.

make love, or f*ck： 做爱 zuo ai
stroke fondle: 抚摸 fu mo

I am new here. I will bein Beijing Tuesday and China for a few weeks. Having traveled in Thailand, Vietnam ( very interesting and dangerous women there....too hot ) and al over Mexico and Central America, I was nervous about coming to china, especially with the crackdowns.

This being my frist experience with mpnet ( what a great site) I have to say how much reading the posts has helped me to "begin" to understand the situation. Just thought I'd share a quick tip with some of you hunting on craigslist. I got bored the other night and decided to take my chances of ringing one of the craigslist ads. Of course I knew that the girl would look nothing like the fake pics they post, but I thought maybe I'd still get lucky. We settled on 300rmb for oil massage and release. Scoured the forums for info on Beijing, and now I know why I was unable to find much. Been a few times from Shanghai on business, and the action's been dismal. Shanghai by far has far more places for fun than Beijing even WITH the Expo crackdown.

Went to Maggie's in Ritan Park for the first time with some friends. Here's how it seems to work there.

Before 11pm
There are plenty of "hostess bar girls" around. They're paid for by the bar, to hang out and drink with customers. Costs about 100-300 RMB tip (you pay depending on how generous you feel) and they usually order martinis which you have to pay for.. 80 RMB. These girls are local girls.. kind of cute.. average scores about 5-7 out of 10. No take out, no FS, no going home with you. At least we didn't seem to have any luck convincing them to go out with us. They claimed that they'd get fired by the bar, if they are seen leaving with customers. You can get a phone number, and invest time+money in actually getting to know these chicks, but honestly I don't have time for that kind of crap these days.

We had two girls at our table... same bullcrap... dice games, horrible conversation, the occational cheap feel. Not hot enough to keep me interested and continually buying them martinis. They were young and dumb, and the fact that you couldn't take them out afterwards made the ordeal seem pointless.

After 11pm
Enter the Mongolians. You know they're Mongolian because they look very different from these local girls. Apparently, they aren't working for the bar, and these girls you CAN take out. However, Mongolians have a reputation of being tough, rugged, exotic, and quite frankly most of them had tattoos and biceps the size of mine.

Not into the Mongolian scene at all, but if any of you are into rugged looking gals Maggie's is the place.

Apparently the Korean KTV scene is interesting here, reasonably priced.. but you have to go with a Korean expat. Will try next time I travel to Beijing.

Too spoiled by the massages, clubs and KTVs in Shanghai to really enjoy Beijing. Anybody know of any other good places in Beijing please fill me in.
