Total case studies for reflexology

Im at present doing an ITEC two year Diploma in Holostic Health. I am studying Reflexology, Massage, Aromatherapy Massage, D & N, A & P, Indian Head Massage, Stress Mgt and PC ........... For Reflexology CS I have to treat 10 clients 4 times and have some back up treatments completed also. This is the ITEC study module here in Ireland, perhaps it is different in the Uk and elsewhere. Even later still, but I did my course with the AoR (qualified just over 2 years ago) and we had to do a minimum of 100 case study treatments. 10 people with at least 6 treatments each and another 40 one-offs. I'd given up work so I had loads of time to do it. I have no clue how people who were working full time managed to fit it all in.

I did A.O.R. too then, but we only had to do 6 x 6 + 24 others, so 60 in total. I did a lot more than that though, but just used the interesting ones for my x6 ones. Were you with Lindsey or Edith at Chingford Lynne.

I'm currently doing ITEC and we have to do 10 people 4 times, the 24 one offs were dropped last year by ITEC but alot of colleges still did them and are doing them this year.

Hi,
I am doing the VTCT level 3 certificate of reflexology. We are required to have three case studies who we treat 3 times each. In addition to this we have to be signed off with certain competencies on 5 occasions. (ie an elderly client, someone with an infection etc.)

I am currently studying reflexology and am now supposed to be in the process of doing my case studies but am really struggling to do these at present with working full time and being a mother.

The problem is Clare that by doing all those case studies it teaches you loads, gives you experience and enables you to be 'safe' and a good reflexologist when fianlly let loose on the public.

So unfortunately you just have to get on and do them yourself. Imagine how proud you will be when you hand them in at the end of it. If you want a good example for a 'pattern' your tutor should give you one from the previous year.

Hoping things are looking better for your case studies??????

You don't say who your awarding body is; if you are doing an AoR accredited course and the ABC examthen you will be able to get hold of the criteria that explains what to include / cover.

Jan is so right, the workis really worth the effort and it is when most studentslearn and develop and will make you acompetent and confident reflexologist. As Jan said, get an example to followor atemplate with headings from your tutor.


We are all behind you on this one and have all been there. I can still recall doing mine[&:] over 10 years ago;the following advice is as a result of staying up very late at night and sometimes until early hours to get them finished, losing all the info on the computer somewhere (my early days of IT) and asking dearhusband to find it and being told no.[:'(].AGGHHHH! Don't thinkasking him at 2 in the morning helped.

It taught me to be organised, and as a tutor, I can't stress enough - When you have done a treatmentwrite it up straight away. This is the one thing that newly qualified ex-students always tell the new students. It easier to keep a focus, recall all the relevant info and also you feel you are getting somewhere.

Importantly though, talk to your tutorand ask for advice /guidance.



Good luck and keep at it - little and often; it really will be worth all the time and effort.
