I'm not sure where you are getting your information from but it's not accurate. I know many Chinese immigrants that came to Canada with little to no money. A key consideration was whether they were employable (some were sponsored). Many MPAs actually started off as nannys, restaurant workers, factory workers, etc...

Maybe the holistic ladies that are making $120-$160 for 30 mins and have 10+ customers per day are making a lot of money but many semi legit MPAs who make around $100-$120 for 1 hr and have 4-5 customers per day are far from rich...
