Therapists-do you make your clients comfortable when you give a massage?

I use a face cradle over the face hole, doesn't everyone with a face hole do that? Are you suggesting that some therapists expect you to put your face straight into the hole? If so, I can see why you wouldn't like it, very uncomfortable! I agree with Stephen about not feeling safe with face cradle at the end of the couch, makes me feel like I'm going to topple head first

Personally I like the face cradle and so do the majority of my clients. Occasionally if a client says they don't like it and prefers a pillow, I'm happy to comply and adjust my massage technique accordingly. After all it their treatment. One of the benefits of the face cradle though is that it "makes" the couch longer, not that couch length has ever been a problem so far.

Anyway now it's getting confusing, we've got face cradles at the end of the couch, face cradles over the face hole and face holes sans cradle.

As an aside in Asia massage is usually given on a mat on the floor so not possible to have a face hole then!

I love the face cradle (at end of the couch) takes away neck strain, some couches even have a 'shelf' below on which one can rest ones arms if one is so inclined and I am so inclined as I hate to be 'told' to put my arms down by my sides as it puts uncomfortable pressure on my neck.

I have face cradle at the end of couch and armrest too. All our beds (bar the electric bed) do.

I hate getting massages without these and don't want to use a bed without them either. So much better imo.

Face ring ( soft padded ring ) in combination with face hole. = no red ring on face. (unless facering diameter to big! so line inner ring diameter with towel)

A face cradle is the fully adjustable platform onto which, a face ring may be fixed.


What about bolsters! the firm 8 inch diameter tube on which you lay clients lower legs, shin's ????? comfortable for all of 4 mins........therapists please use a pillow and support the lower legs properly over a wider more comfortable area........please
