Chat Poll: who would you vote for, Trump or Biden

Think it will be the same as 2016, Biden will get the most votes because of the big cities like NY or LA that go Democrat. Trump will win because of the electoral college. He resonates with the rust belt, the bible belt, the fly over states, you name it. This is his base and they still like him, the Democrats haven't done anything to change their mind. The issues such as gun control are favourable in the big cities but not anywhere else where hunting is still a way of life. Church going, not big in the cities but rural America, still very Christian beliefs. Green New Deal, big with celebs and the big city crowd, not so much out on the farms where they use a lot of diesel growing crops and raising livestock.

I know a lot of people do not like the electoral college but it was put in place so that a couple big cities couldn't decide the outcome of the US government, gives each of the states a little better say no matter how large or small their population. Somewhat how Toronto and Montreal can really sway the Canadian election.

I already have $1,000 on a Trump landslide, none of the people I’m betting were willing to put up more. Sleepy child sniffing Joe has been in office 47 years and done nothing of note other than incarcerate millions of blacks with his 1994 crime bill and get him and his family wealthy with shady deals like Burisma. He can barely put a sentence together, many doctors who have observed him first hand believe he suffers with some form of dementia. For those of you who listen to the polls, as per above, they said he would lose in 2016 with less than 10% of the vote, how’d that work out for ya. Record low unemployment across the board, largest middle income tax cuts in history, record after records set on the stock markets I could go on but y’all only believe what lamestream media tells you to believe anyway.

I have to say, I would be greatly heartened to learn the polls could be wrong enough for Trump to win. Right now, it looks like Biden has made inroads in all the states Trump MUST have in order to win. If the polls could be wrong to that degree, I would say the real heroes are the American voters who have been wily enough not to show their allegiance and thereby give the media a big fat middle finger.

I am so tired of hearing friends and family accuse me of being a Trump fan just because I think the Democratic party is awful. They say..."but Biden is so much nicer..." How is it that people who can walk and chew gum at the same time, have bank accounts etc. still want to pick a President based on "niceness"? I hear Biden talking about systemic racism, how the cops are so bad, how Covid is apparently racist...and then I look at Trump. Easy choice. Both idiots, but at least one isn't trying to convince me I'm evil because of the colour of my skin.

I've already expressed my thoughts on this pick on the other thread. It is interesting how the votes here pretty well mirror exactly the current polling.

I think if not for Covid, Trump wins handily. I despise the man, but Dems have gone full on nuts. Just the reality of how much the media is in for one side on this contest should give people pause to think...but not many are able to do so independently. In a world where J.K. Rowling can be a transphobe, it is no surprise that so many are sheep to CNN programming.

Trump just scrapped any stimulus plans until after the election and stocks tumbled on the news (-1.34% at end of trading). Airline stocks got walloped. Both Democrats and Republicans has stimulus plans but Reps didn’t want to help State or local governments. Dems wanted more and Reps wanted less but they both wanted something (Dems control the House so their plan went ahead and presented to Trump). So, Trump is going to go with nothing instead.

I'm curious to know why people hate Trump so much. He is arrogant, he is a blowhard, he is egotistical, he lies. Okay that about describes just about any politician.

Some of the things I remember from the 2016 election"

- it was said he was a racist and was going to send all blacks to Africa and all latinos to Mexico. Note he hasn't done this, he has had ICE step up and start gathering up people who are in the US illegally to have them deported. On top of not rounding up all minorities, minorities have some of the highest employment in quite a while.

- he was suppose to start world war 3. Instead of starting WW 3, he is the first president in over 30 years that has not sent troops to a new war under his term. He has also brokered (his team) a peace deal with Israel and other mid east countries. He has had peaceful talks with North Korea, the first president to do this in quite a while.

- he was suppose to be the puppet of every dictator or foreign country in the world. He has taken a hard line with China to try and equalize trade. He pulled the wool over the eyes of the Canadian trading team and set up a deal with Mexico and this forced Canada to accept scraps to get in on the deal. Being a Canadian it sucks but you can't blame Trump for standing up for the US, that is who he is suppose to stand up for, wish we had politicians in Canada that would do that for Canadians.

- the Kyoto deal he pulled out of, but check to see how Canada or any other country is meeting its commitments to the deal. At least Trump admitted they were not going to meet the terms so just pulled out instead of pretending that they were actually doing something.

I guess people just don't like his look, his attitude, or his demeanor. I'm not a big fan either but I don't hate the person and some of the things he has done I actually agree with. Wish he would pull the US troops out of some of the war zones where they are currently located as I don't see what good they are actually doing, this would be one of my biggest complaints about him.

Anyway, would just be curious to understand why others really hate him. What policy, trade agreement, law, or whatever has he put into place that you really disagree with or is it all based on your feelings and distaste for the person himself?

From my experience, all New Yorkers have always thought he was a charlatan and a clown, and laugh at him behind his spoiled, Uday Hussein-like, rich-kid back since the '80s. However, now he represents an existential threat to western democracy. True patriots must vote against him, lest the evangelicals succeed in establishing a taliban-style Christian theocracy in what should have been the greatest democratic country in history.

I disagree this being the choice of lessor of two evils, amigo. Trump is the embodiment of everything that democracy does not represent. He has completely dishonoured the relatively proud legacy of the Republican party and is using increased presidential powers and his notoriety to undermine the institutions that have kept America, for all its failings, relatively stable and evolving for 200 years. Biden does not represent anywhere near that level of menace. Nor for that matter do the most extreme leftist elements of the Democrats. At least the Dems are still expressing support for the fundamentals of the constitution. Trump only cares about staying in power because of his out-of-control ego and narcissism and for long enough for the statute of limitations to expire on his numerous tax frauds.
