Realigning the talus is a simple manipulation, but one that is difficult to translate on the web. Even after the relocation, the arches need to be supported and knee examined, or the talus can simply go back to its dysfunctional state. Phillip Greenman's is a good book for mobilizations, or just refer to a chiropractor, which is generally a better bet.

I wore crappy shoes when I traveled across the country for my granny's funeral last spring.  My feet hurt like crazy in the morning and if I sat for a while and then got up.  I tolerated it for two weeks not even thinking to ask my chiro boss about it.  I heard one of his patients telling the receptionist what a wonderful job he'd done with her aching feet, so I asked him to adjust mine.  He said my talus was out of place.  His manipulation hurt like crazy, but within an hour I was pain free.  I've never felt anything like that before or since, but that's when I really started believing in chiropractic.Katykangaroo

Once again, the old threads on this board have really helped!I have a dancer coming in today with this condition and wanted to review the postings ----- thanks to all.  She's going to a competition in Ireland next week --- a little late to come for help perhaps, but maybe we can helpWe have set up an appointment for the massage work and then she'll go to Outpatient rehab and the sports therapist will teach her taping techniques for dorsiflexion during sleep ---- We shall see!  I'll recommend the frozen golf balls too!Thanks again!Linda in NC

Wow, the old posts DO help. I've been seeing a client for 2 weeks (one session a week) that has this. She gets a 1-hr massage on her feet. I was never sure if this was too much time to spend on her feet with this disorder, but after the first session she said she felt SO much better. Thanks for the tips!
