Just to confuse matters............!

I only recently joined FHT, and the insurance company don't know I have because I haven't told them!! Sounds like they don't know what they're talking about!! I will ring them again today, and see what they have to say. Not very good customer care huh?!

To be honest I think i'm gonna stick with Towergate regardless of how much cheaper the other policy is, as I don't have any confidence in them.

If they don't even know what their policy covers, what does that say about their competence?![&:]

Just had a rather heated conversation with a lady from woodgate!! She confirmed what you have said, and no I am not insured even though I was told a week or so ago that I was! I have made a complaint, and had a good moan but that gets me nowhere!

Also I queried the fact that it was cheaper because I was with FHT. She said that was 'nonsense'!

So now I'm worried!! Can I have the number of Towergate please?! I shall also look into FHT insurance. I can't believe that they can keep changing their minds like that. Imagine if I had a claim made against me, when I thought I was covered. Very unprofessional.

Have just spoken to FHT. The insurance they offer covers preblended oils even if I'm not an aromatherapist. The cover is £48.

I'm calming down now! What a nightmare!!

I'll be staying well clear of them in future!

If i was you i'd be asking FHT to confirm to you in writing that preblended oils are included in your existing cover, just to be on the safe side should they also decide to change their mind further down the line!

Just to update everyone interested in this post.............

I rang Woodgates again and asked them to send an application form and policy wording to me for me to have a look at.

The policy that they offer ONLY covers public liability....basically if a cliant injures themselves, damages their possessions etc and says that it was your fault.

it does NOT provide ANY cover for professional negligence, this is when i client claims that you have made their condition worse through poor treatment, whether that be a counsellor whose client says that you have been rude or unsympathetic, or a hypnotherapist whose client claims that your treatment has made their condition worse, e.g weight loss etc.

therefore I would not buy this policy as it does not cover the average therapist for the areas that are needed to be covered.

Probably why it is so cheap!!

well surprise surprise, Woodgate never rang me back. Very unprofessional of them, even a courtesy call would have been nice.

Think I will have to go with SMG too.
