This ain't a farmers market as you are not haggling. If you are smart and concerned, do your research. $120 give of take is the going rate for 30mins, inclusive of bbbj. If the cop walks in and your dick is on her mouth, she will be fined. There was no discussion of services/fees. A half ass lawyer can work with this. And the cops know this as well, not wishing to waste the crown's time.

As an analogy, cops are less concerned if you go over 20km than 50km. However do 20 in a school zone, you are done.

While a lot of guys on this board are probably not for the "Defund the Police" movement the arguments you're making in favor of decriminalizing sex work are pretty consistent with what its proponents are arguing for. The decisions about what constitutes criminal behaviour and whether armed police are the best placed to enforce those behaviours is at the core of rethinking the role of police.

In the case of sex work, it would make way more sense if it was Health Canada ensuring regular testing and social workers dealing with issues of substance abuse and mental health. Police should only be involved if there is trafficking, minors or violence.

You missed my point entirely, which is that enforcement strategy often plays to public sentiment - which shifts. As to statistics, what is measured, how data points are collected, what processing it undergoes, and how it is communicated can all tell radically different messages [1][2].

Yes, stats can lie and so what evidence do we have that LEs are actually targeting this industry.

It would be shooting fishing in a barrel. In my area there are 5 massage spas within a 2 minute drive. Not sure everyone in the area is suffering from sore muscles.

Only good things would come out of legalizing sex work. But I HIGHLY doubt legalization will come anytime in the next 5 years, especially considering we still don't have a proper vaccine for corona. Legalize this hobby and people will be more inclined to go out during the pandemic. But here are some positives to come out of this:

1) Sex workers would have mandatory testing for STDs. Regular testing is good for all of us.
2) Tax the industry
3) Creating an actual union for sex workers
4) No more sting operations from low-life cops
5) Take power away from the pimps

But then again, sex work could be a dying industry. When you have girls making millions on onlyfans, why would someone choose to sell their body to dirty folks like us? This is why I'm forever grateful for every sex worker in the world, especially in this digital age where they could easily make their money elsewhere. We're lucky to have them.

It seems strange that governments today are making just able anything legal. Same-sex marriage, euthanasia, marijuana, abortions, even driving over the speed limit on the 401 is legal, FFS. Lol.

But when it comes to most important thing above everything else, the government is stuck in the dark ages. The degree of retardedness in the people writing our laws is an absolute joke. There should be a law that requires IQ tests for people running for political office.
