Time for these owners to get together and hire a lawyer.

Of course, if they are unlicenced in the first place then not much to they can do.

By laws cannot shut down licenced establishments other then make them comply with the licencing requirements.

I am not sure about Aria since it is new but Suko? Why now? I am sure like the older places like E&M, JR, Lavender etc should be at least grandfathered in under old rules or are they all are unlicenced?

So, you want to own a business. You do not want your personal information made public. You are either a Legal Business or a Illegal one.

You cannot have it both ways. Even a Hot Dog cart need a licence. Canada is not some 3rd world country where laws are flouted openly.

Having a RMT licence does not mean the business has a business licence to operate.

Speaking to a few owners they do not seem to know the difference between what licence the MPA has and what the business need.

They might not know better but the people around them - the promoters, long time customers, etc should have known better.

Get whatever licence you need first to operate first. Worry about what you can or cannot do later.

Best U is also in the market now for sale. I saw that coming a few months ago as I have posted in post # 5902 in EBW thread. They should have put it up in the market before the byLaw gave out notices. It's too late now.

Anytime you do something legally, your name will be on the public record. So, you want to carry on the business but you are not prepared to let others know.

I'm not sure where you are going with this. Or why you think that I think they shouldn't follow the rules. What I said is that the owners will not want to file any type of lawsuits. Court cases do not happen behind closed doors as I'm sure you know. They would also involve having to provide some type of evidence further exposing aspects of their personal life which at times may not always be on the right side of the rules, i.e CRA.

This hobby has a stigma attached to it. Being an owner of a spa has the same stigma. I'm sure they don't want their kids teachers, neighbors, other parents at daycare to know what they do for a living.

This is why they won't pursue a court case.
