Watching the news today and learned this. Of the 159 dead in Mexico City 15 have been confirmed cases of the swine flu.

San Diego has 5 confirmed cases.

The flue kills like 350,000(I may be off on this number) every year.

Anyway this swine flu does not seem to be spreading so fast in San Diego and has not even hit Baja California.

Egypt is slaughtering all their pigs immediately (300,000)....I think this is not merited, but it appears to me that the World is pannicking.

Now you hear lots of folks saying wash your hands often. Now this is a good thought, but is not going to help if you then use your clean hands to turn off the water or to open the bathroom door. You are advised to use a paper towel to turn off the faucet and open the door to the bathroom.

I made one of my regular trips to TJ yesterday since I haven't been there in about two weeks, right before the media started covering the swine flu. And I got to tell you what a difference two weeks made.

TJ was already a little slow because of the recession, passport rules, and drug violence. But this swine flu seems to have people especially mongers from the US scared, much more so that cartel drug members with their assault weapons and knives to cut off heads!

TJ was sure dead of gringo mongers yesterday, but still plenty of Mexican locals filled the bars with a few gringo mongers, and they chicas were still in the bars waiting for business.

After a walker type of chica robbed me out of $20 dollars.( long story but the short version she wanted the money up front, got 1/2 and then walked out complaining about me keeping the $20 dollars ) I made it to Bar Tropical, where I met this wonderful chica who also happens to be a US citizen. She wasn't exactly what I call GFE in the room, but she had a innocent charm that I enjoyed hanging out with drinking in the bar.

But she said her sister had swine flu like symptoms and since she is the head of the family took her sister to the hospital for all kinds of tests, but they came out negative, but she said the sister was really sick, and it cost her lots of money for the bills.

But this morning I woke up with a headache! I'm just hoping it's just a little hangover, and the Levitra still in my system, and not some kind of swine flu?

Anyway it's still nice in TJ, and the crowds are way down, and there are still plenty of girls especially a lot of new young SGs.

When I crossed back over the border I could not believe it! There was almost no line of cars crossing back into the US, maybe a three minute wait, and where I walked through there was no line whatsoever. I was the only one returning.....it was weird.

My predictions on the "Swine flu" is the news will stop covering it in a few days, and move it to the back pages of the news. We won't be hearing too much about many new cases, and the story will just die, although there will be a few new cases and maybe even a few deaths from people with weak immune systems. However, next winter I could see the Swine flu coming back, and perhaps getting in full swing this time around?

I'm not worried about the flu. I was in TJ last week and the week before, so I have to try to wait until about two week, and then I"m going again.

I just hope the bars management doesn't up with a no kissing rule or something like that?

I'll worry about the Swine Flu when I hear thousands of people are infected with it in TJ, because right now I'm not hearing anybody in TJ having it?

What scares me the most about this virus is that it is a mutation, a mix of pig, bird and human influenza virus. Thus we humans do not have anti-bodies to fight this form of virus, or so say the medical experts. Viruses, like any other living organisms, have been evolving to make them more resistant to the environments, including anti-viral drugs.

Having said that, I would stay clear from TJ for a while until the dust clears. Scientist are puzzled why there are so many fatalities in Mexico while most people show mild effects in other countries. One more thing is that the age group of affected people in Mexico is 25 - 50, a healthy age group. I don't believe that fatalities in Mexico are entirely related to pollution and poor health management system. Maybe there is something more than meets the eye. Until I hear some definite answers, I would stay away from TJ. Then again, it's your life. You should know what to do with it.

Read the US news: all cases outside Mexico have been "mild flu".

Expert doctors wonder why, and ask what factor is mixed with the virus in Mexico that makes it mortal.

Very simple: popular health care, the IMSS.

It will take a lot of virtual space to explain it, but all the sick in Mexico are of the lower classes that have only IMSS as medical help and IMSS sucks not big time, those hospitals are sometimes mortal.

Mexico City has one hell of a traffic between them and my city of Monterrey, and we have only one fatality, with NO other case.
And this poor woman, again, was treated at the IMSS and sent home with an unfilled prescription of Tamiflu cause they don't have it.

TJ is a part of Mexico, so it's reasonable to assume that the virus has spread from Mexico City to TJ. I think it's clear now that there is no significant influenza related danger to mongering in the zona. From what I've read, only individuals who have low inmune systems and secondary health issues, or those who don't have access to the most basic medical care, would be in danger of dying. Hey, if one has the money to go mongering, one should have the $ to get some basic antibiotics!!!!!
