Lurker Alert...

I'm in my first quarter of massage therapy school. I'm actually doing great. If all goes well, I should graduate in Nov 2006. We've done lots of anatomy so far since there is an issue going on with the massage instructor - very understandable reason and I would probably do the same thing if I was in their shoes. Just wish the school was more forthright with updates on the situation. t104 I like the A/P instructor - very funny and helps make learning easier. t004

I just have to say I love this website - it's good to get insight from many different walks of life - from the students to the seasoned professional. It's hard because I work full-time and having class three nights a week. Very tiresome...and the free time (yeah sure like I have any) is spent doing homework or studying and trying to make time for those I care about in my life. Time just never seems to stretch that far these days. Almost two months down... t023 Celebrate what you can

I'm doing well in school, will graduate in May 2006. So far, I have had Prenatal, Swedish and Sport massage. Now, we are getting into the nervous system and Hydrotherapy. I am really enjoying school thus far. Will begins clinic probably in the next two weeks. Very nervous....but looking forward to it

hey there. I will be finished next August. Tomorrow is my first test. I think I have it all down. Lots of massage theory questions, caution areas, and effects of strokes. I don't have an A&P test for a couple more weeks. Anyways I think I know it but just hope I don't freak when I get handed a piece of paper with 100 questions on it. I'll let you all know.

I am in a two year program(halfway done), and graduate in June 2006. I absolutely LOVE it. Anatomy was fascinating- I am already looking forward to my first CEU: a class on functional anatomy t038
We started clinic in Sept. and I am really diggin' it. And NMT classes are the best. I feel like I have a new moment of zen enlightenment almost every time I go to school these days.

Getting Started

I'm in a 1 yr program and have been going for about a month and a half. I'm *really* enjoying it! The anatomy aspect is amazing. We just finished Bones and Joints and we're moving on to Muscles.

I'm also scouring the web for information on massage businesses so that I can come up with a strategy for recruiting clients. It's rather fun!

I will be graduating in May of 2006. I have been in school since August of 2005. We are currently learning the Swedish routine. We have completed the back sequence and working on the posterior arms. The back we worked on for weeks, but now we will only work a week for each part (posterior and anterior arms, posterior and anterior legs, chest/abdomen). I love our instructor, he is awesome! We, at the same time, are going through an Anatomy and Physiology class, Pathology, and a business class. These will all end in December and we will start Trigger Point and Myofascial therapies and be doing in class clinicals. Well, that's all I can think of for right now!

i've completed all my course work. i've got 16.25 hrs left of my 50 hour internship/clinical. i'm hoping to be done on 10/27. 8) it will be wonderful to get back to training and spending time with my husband again.

I finish a 2-year program at the beginning of February! It's both exciting and anxiety producing. The "real world" lurks!

I talked to someone fresh out of school and he said it is very different. In school, you are in a lot of luck. Massages twice a week if not more, for free, lol. In school you practice on each other, but when you are out working you do not get that, and it is starting to show on him now.

Tri-Duck, You are in the right place here. If you read & search the posts you are going to be amazed at how much more you know then some of the others starting school with you. You will feel 50% smarter from signing on here!! Also a great place to vent, ask questions etc. So don't be shy. Welcome
