Honnas it sounds like you used good common sense, blood, sweat and tears to get you where you are. Congrats on that. Thanks for sharing and I hope its an inspiration for the original poster.

I finish my schooling in 6-months, looking forward to it, but also scared about what lies ahead. I hear complaints about our instructors, and while I agree they could do more, but they are there to teach us the basics and to help us pass the state board. They care less about what kind of therapist we are. Everyone rides me about the time I spend studying, but I figure I am going to get out what I put into it. Like other post, I have learned more from videos on the web and books I have picked up on my own then I have in class. I have sacrificed time and a relationship to achieve my goal....and the finish line is in site.

I hope to graduate, get a job and continue my education and eventually I would like to open my own business and even go back to the school to teach. I am 38, so this is a big career change for me, but I am so excited and plan to work hard to make things happen for once in my life.

better business bureau complaint might help. talk to the school because they didn't deliver on what they sold as the curriculum. it's called fraud. I think there is a law against not receiving what you paid for. You can ask for refund or get the free course with another teacher if they don't want to refund cash. of course the hurt would be the time wasted.

you can also find your classmate for support if they feel the same too and check the laws to see if you folks can get the school shutdown. county and state law regulate vocational schools i think.

lawyers should know about this. go ask them.

I too was one of the few "too serious" ones, spent a lot of time studying. I'm over the "5-yr field-average" limit. So, imo, "serious" = success.

And, yes, lots of learning after school! Takes a while; but, wish you well, much success!
