Have not been out a lot in recent weeks but had a big one the other night and I must say the groping was not so bad except for in Tiger... but same same. So many girls do the touching first in there so I can see how a guy can get confused. With any luck it was a peak season thing.

Any uninvited touch (anywhere) outside of Thailand could result in a charge of assault. Wrong place and its a sexual assult. You might be drunk but that wont carry much weight. Then again, most places in Thailand could see you in trouble if you tried it.

Our favorite play areas may be a little more tolerant of the occasional grope but doing it to the wrong person and well, how were you to know her dad is the local police chief or (worse) head of the tuk-tuk drivers union?

Ive had many a girl sit herself on my lap and once she has then its fair game in my opinion. A girl on the street? No way. Ignore the bedroom eyes and the 'come and get me' smiles until you can read what those eyes and smiles are really saying.

Any girl should be able to walk on the street unmolested. Any girl working in a bar is also a 'no touch' until she makes it clear it ok. Anything outside of that and its the farang thats takes a risk.

You can bet there is a local group of p****d off women just waiting to make an example or two.

Groping is wrong, must not be done. Nothing works better than approaching a girl with a smile.

However, frequenting (twice a week) internationally known Red-Light areas (Bangla, Sunsabi and nearby extensions and business around them included at certain time of the day/night) with your never-been-BG good TG is not the best behavior either.

Do in Rome as Romans do. Ask local Thais as to how many 'real good' TGs are brought there by their 'good boy' image Thais bf or husbands. Classy Thais do not bring their women to these red-light places, even if they (male) might frequent the place for mongering.

Stealing (groping) is wrong but leaving all you doors and windows open while you you are out in the nastiest suburbs with an international reputation for the hub of stealing (whoring) is also utter foolishness.

Either do not go, or adopt minimization techniques and take it as hazards of partying in red-light zone or find a respectable place elsewhere in the town.

First off, the vast majority of men who come to LOS in the winter are European.

Secondly, we are not angels, but by and large, Americans drink a lot less alcohol, especially hard liquor, but also beer, than Europeans. In America, very few people over the age of 30, and for many, over the age of 25, drink with the intent to get drunk. The idea is to get a little intoxicated, a social buzz, if you will, and then drink just enough to keep it from wearing off. The East Coast is a little different, but in California, even most teenagers drink just to get a little high, not to get ridiculously pissed. It is not socially acceptable in America for a mature adult to get stinking drunk in public. In America, a bartender is prohibited by law from serving drinks to anyone who is already very drunk, and can be held responsible for any problems caused by that person if he serves them another drink. I would think in a lot of the groping cases, alcohol has a lot to do with that behavior.

Third, as it has been pointed out in a previous post, these Neanderthals are not groping the farang women. The mentality of many Europeans(and this is what I have learned only here on this Board from what BMs say about their countrymen/women) is that Thai women are wh0res, and may be looked upon and treated differently from other women. Americans do not have preconceived notions about Thai women and therefore are inclined to treat them the same as farang women.

I can't comment on Aussies. Middle Eastern and other Arab men, and Islamic men, and Indian men have a reputation of being even worse than Europeans from what I have been told by Thai women. Of course, that does not apply to all of them, either,as many, or perhaps most, are probably gentlemen, as are most European men, too. But there are far more Euro tourists here.

I would probably take note more of Americans because I am. It seems people seem to take more notice of their own nationality because it is more embarrassing.

I have no idea, but would think that there would be less Americans than some other nationalities based on the current value of the dollar and the distance to travel to LOS. Just less Americans in general compared to some other nationalities not necessarily less being jerks.

Time of year and like it or not, Patong is a newbie's playground would be my guess.

I have walked around Patong day and night with both Mrs Minder and her sisters, at other times with her and her two best friends - one is 9 point 5 on anyone's scale -we have also frequented Suk, Patpong (less so), and Pattaya together and with the friends and sisters - never had a similar incident to report (some drunks have tried to hit on the friends but they have always been polite and take "no" for an answer types).

Thus I'd conclude its the Patong clientele at this time of year (or that I scare people / hang around with dull women / don't have a clue..etc) Enjoy.
