Here are the South Carolina exit polls. If you read between the lines it becomes very clear Trump cannot win the General election.

Biden is the incumbent and is getting 98% of the vote. Trump is the Republican incumbent and only getting 60%. A little under 30% recognize themselves as Democrat, and a little under 30% as Republican and over 40% are independent. Trump is getting the far right vote of the poorly educated. The more moderates and college educated voted Nikki Haley. If Trump is convicted many wouldn’t vote for him.

Trump can only win by pulling th moderates to his side but they just don’t want him. This is why he cannot win the General election

There is only one way to win the Election.

What is happening now are the Primaries. This is Phase #1 for each party to chose their Candidate to go to Phase #2: The General election. The General Election is in November. The popular vote is meaningless. The US follows an Electoral College system. There are 538 electors and these are divvied up amongst the states based on population size. If you win the State you get their electoral college votes (California = 55; Texas = 38; etc.). The candidates need 270 electoral college votes to win. Here is the map. The toss up states (swing states) are the key to winning. Swing states being Arizona, Georgia, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Florida, Nevada, Minnesota, North Carolina, Pennsylvania.
