The only case that you get treatment before anything happens is when you plan to travel to some known locations that have high risk of certain infectious diseases that are not common in the location that you live. If you get it, you will be cured and if you didn't you would not build resistance to that agent, as it is not in the area that you live. Vaccine for HPV is a prevention and they all do. But syphilis, Gonorrhea, herpes and ..... you only treat with public health lab confirmation that you have it. Build up antibiotic resistance is a very very serious issue these days. That's why they say in next few years a super bug can come and kill 50M people.

To be fair, you can’t be infected with STI and don’t show STD symptoms. It takes time, like Few days or for HIV up to few years. The fact that it’s crazy, I agree.
