I used to have a boyfriend who thought he'd make a good surgeon because he was good at carpentry!
Maybe 300 years ago that was OK - but I'm not sure I'd be so keen today.
Family and friends are Ok, but if I pay for a service I expect someone to have recieved some form of training - even if it is just in using the till correctly - part of my payment is the recognition of that cost.
No, it doesn't say whether you're any good or not - clients will tell you that
