The OP arrived 10 minutes in advance of his appointment, NOT late. There is, IMNSHO, no excuse for the overbooking. I will scratch Allure off my list, as my time is too precious to be jerked around. They may be busy and want the client to confirm an hour in advance. Well, guess what, if I am travelling to th destination, I may not be able to call during that time frame, because I am too busy trying to get there.

That's quite an extreme stance on the report of one person get shafted. The reality is... it's your loss. Allure won't even notice if you were a patron or not, you just stroked off some of the best MPAs in the city. While you're at it, stroke off just about every other MP too because it happens everywhere, just not to you yet.

We absolutely admit that an error was made and I've since apologized earlier on this thread and personally by PM to the member in question.
We've since posted a note on our website stating our policy and we spoke to our desk staff regarding this issue during our desk-staff meeting over the weekend. We hope we've taken the necessary steps to avoid this mix-up in the future.

I just want to clarify that appointments made the same day do not need to be confirmed. Appointments made a day or more in advance must be confirmed at least one hour before your appointment time. This means you can call anytime that day as early as you wish as long as it's at least one hour before your appointment. For instance with a 10:00pm appointment you can call us as early as 10:00am (12 hours ahead) if you wish.
We just need you to aknowledge that you didn't forget about your appointment (that you may have made days ago) and that you will be there.
We will continue to accept appointments up to a week in advance. We have many clients that book far in advance and have no problem calling to confirm.


As I've mentioned before, we only recently put this policy in place and only after the girls started complaining of too many no shows most of whom were booked days ahead of time.
We have awesome staff and we want to keep them happy and that means staying busy, not waiting around for phantom appointments.

This way your time is protected as well since we can inform you if a girl has called iin sick and wont be in that day after all.

It's your prerogative to scratch Allure of your list, but I hope you will reconsider since you truly would be missing out on some great girls not to mention a management team that truly cares about their clients.

My situation with booking at Allure is equally annoying but very much different in scenario.

I live about 2 hours away from the spa so I call up to reserve some time with my favourite. It is only 2pm and she didn't start until I believe it was 5pm. The receptionist refused to make an appointment because she was unsure as to whether or not my MPA was going to be in or not.

So off I go and start my drive to Mississauga. I call back at 4pm because I was attending an event in town and wanted to see my MPA beforehand. I was hoping to get in for one of her early appointments so I called back again 15 minutes prior to the shift starting hoping to get in to see her by 5:30. The receptionist said that she was now in but she was booked up until 10:30.

I went instead to SRM and was not disappointed. I have never even called Allure again since that day as SRM seems to understand what customer service is all about.

My guess is that the girl gave us reason to believe there was a chance she couldn't make it in that evening and the receptionist was holding off on taking appointments until she could confirm. She must have confirmed that she'd be in shortly after your first call and booked up with appointments quickly thereafter. I actually remember this happening on one of my shifts and that was the exact scenario.
In hindsight it may have been better to take the appointments and ask the clients to call and confirm before making the drive but that probably would have been an issue for some clients as well.

It doesn't sound like the receptionist did anything wrong or malicious in this case. She was only doing what she thought was best at the time and I don't think she could have foreseen the outcome.

It sounds to me that if you want to make Allure your choice, you better be expected to take what you're given, and like it.

My experience has been that they are super accomodating as long as you check in a reasonable time before the appointment and let then know what is happening. I was running late for my first appointment ever there and they held the appointment even though it made the conclusion of the appointment run slightly past closing time. I called on my cell phone and kept them posted. The desk person was helpful that first time and Holly was very nice about working a little overtime.

Seems funny. Seeing how this was reply'd to from Allure staff. I made an appointment 2 days in advance for a Saturday appointment. I called early afternoon of the day to confirm my appointment. When I arrived unknown how, but it was written down 5 minutes past the time I actually made my appointment. But worse yet, after getting into the room noticed it was now 15 minutes past what they wrote down as my appointment. So actually was now 20 minutes past my originally appointed time. Thinks this meeting of staff needs to be planned again. Not working it seems.

I guess the only way to Really solve this issue is if you make an appointment a couple of days in advance...Leave a call back number so they can call you if there is an issue...just like the dentist....without the drill's

Seriously you guys either don't hobby enough to see this happen everywhere else or have way too high expectations. Running on time is NOT the norm in this biz and pretty much any service business out there unless they absolutely no clients. SRM, HFH, Allure, Plats, S9 you name it all the same service level. For every guy that says they've gotten great service with one spa but not another, there is another guy with the opposite story. I've frequent all the spas and none of them are perfect, not even close.

Just budget a larger time than necessary around your appointment so you don't get tight with time. Call to confirm, relax and enjoy.

WOW! massageplanet.netites can be a tough crowd. Even the best run places make mistakes especially in a business like this. Nobody likes when something like this happens but places like Allure are alot better than the hit and miss spas we seem to have forgotten about thanks to places like Allure. I love this place it is a great facility with amazing girls and that is a reflection of the management.

Honestly, no MP is perfect.

WHY?

Well, the first thing to remember is that MP's aren't the "real world." If you or I don't show up for half the work week or are consistently late our asses are fired. In the MP world some MPA's are very reliable, others are notorious for being the opposite.

Some of you may not know this, but in order to try and maintain SOME type of discipline many of the top spas CHARGE MPA's FINES for not showing up, or showing up late.

A few weeks ago I was talking to a receptionist at one MP about 30 minutes before shift change. In that 15 minutes, TWO MPA's called. One was going to be 2 HOURS late, the other was no showing. BOTH had clients booked at their OFFICIAL start time.

So what's the spa to do?

They can't call the client and tell him not to show up, because the MP business is anonymous. Either they hope he agrees to see another girl, or they have to somehow compensate him for lost time/aggravation. So intead of MAKING the spa $100 for 2 x appts the MPA's have COST the spa $100. Some MPA's DON'T get this, and THAT'S why they have difficulties with management.

On the other side, many CLIENTS are flakes too. Sometimes a girl can have 4 appts and 2 or 3 don't show up.

The difference between a Tier A spa like Allure and many of the smaller less known spas is that management actually gives a shit. They don't view us as walking ATM's.

If I was Brotherman I'd be upset too, but at least he's been offered an apology and an explanation. I've learned to ALWAYS call ahead and confirm my appt, unless I book during THAT SHIFT when the girl is actually there

I appreciate the response and followup that Allure has shown here. Many other spas wouldn't take the time, especially given the flood of other complaints that seem to be coming in on this thread. In my opinion Allure has done all they can do to make things right for this situation and while no spa is perfect all the time, you have to give them credit for being professional and reasonable.

I went to a different very popular spa recently and even though I confirmed my appointment a couple hours before my scheduled time, when I showed up 10 minutes early they said that the girl I had booked with (which I saw clearly in their schedule book) had just gone into the room with another customer and I would have to wait for a hour! I was pretty ticked off, and told them "it's not my fault, go tell the other guy that didn't have an appointment he has to come out and wait, don't penalize me for your mistake, apologize to that guy and make him wait for me since I made the appointment". In this case I'm assuming that customer was a frequent customer and they agreed to let him squeeze in but it was inexcusable since I have been there many times too, just not recently. I ended up waiting as they claimed the girl had already gone in and he had jumped in the shower... and they didn't even waive my room fee! I only waited since it was the only day and time I would have been able to see the girl I wanted to see due to my schedule.

Again, this was at ANOTHER SPA (NOT Allure) and I considered that worse than what happened to this guy at Allure since I had confirmed AND saw my name in the book AND was early.
