April 1st By-law intel central clearing house

Starting this thread for members to post any updates regarding by-law issues or visits to RH spas from April 1, onwards. Especially encouraged are any actual sightings of by-law officers or other signs of enforcement.

The aim is to offer as accurate and timely as possible intel for those who are concerned about the situation at the spas they visit. Promoters, owners and members are all invited to share any information that will help spa patrons decide how to respond to the expected changes, and decide based on the best information how to proceed in their own hobbying visits.

Everyone has different tolerances regarding risks in this hobby, so I hope by sharing any intel those of us who plan on continuing to hobby and support our local shops in this industry can have a central thread for sharing. The Lavender thread is gone thread has been useful leading up to tomorrow, but I hope this will be an easy and more obvious thread to search.

One caveat, this is intel for hobbyists, not law enforcement. So if you note something on the down-low please keep it to yourself or your circle via DM.

I suspect what he is trying to do is to help people quantify the risk involved. Indicating sightings may help dispel myth from reality. But there is a bit of an inherit bias in the information however.

Again, participate as you see fit here. The aim is to offer information so members can decide how to proceed. And there are zero legal repercussions for discussing the presence of By-law officers.

Not sure if you understand the criminal code in Canada. If there is an issue please cite statute or at least generic term that someone might be charged with?

Again, this is a by-law issue and the aim is to keep people informed of actual events so they can make their own decisions.

lol I'm not arguing with you bud. I'm just letting people know that IF there are active LE operations, not to be a hero and post it here. Your initial post stated "or other signs of enforcement", I'm just commenting on this part.

At the end of the day, you're free to do anything you want to do.

Thanks for this awareness post. It was frustrating to watch my posts about this in the thread of the promoters get deleted.

Like many who hobby I am fine with an empty wallet and a green dick but do not want any trouble with LE.

The spas all around the Highway 7 Richmond Hill area are affected. The spas around Vaughan and East Markham should be fine.

Shame on the spas and promoters who actively hide this because clients will get in trouble if the bylaws are enforced.

Not sure if all this is happening in a total vacuum. By-law usual responds to complaints, I have heard that a Markham spa got a visit, but spoke to another owner of a well known Markham spa and she reports no issues, visits, and is running her full lineup today.

As for clients getting in trouble, not sure that is part of the equation when it comes to by-law enforcement. Worst case scenario is you have by-law visit while you are on the premises. You are not required to provide any information to by-law, and similar to interactions with the police, no need to answer questions. But again, it has to do with comfort. Those of us around for a while and not bothered by dealing with authority won't be too stressed, others may have a more sensitive disposition and feel very uncomfortable and unsure in such interactions.

The police are not there for ticketing clients. They are there for the safety of the by law officials and owners. Also act as a witness.

Unless you are caught exchanging money any ticket they give you will not hold up in any court.

Exactly. We all need to calm down and understand what laws apply.
In 2014, Bill C-36 made it illegal to purchase sexual services. Not long after that, a judge set the burden of proof for LE fairly high. Your risk of arrest for this hasn't changed. Typically, we're not worth the effort.

Right. By-law enforcement is interested in how the business is operating.

In general, don't try to make excuses or explain. Do nothing, and say nothing besides "Am I free to go?"

On what charges?

If you are too nervous don't go. If you have any information regarding the criminal code and possible charges please share. If you don't, use google to get a quick understanding of the laws in Canada.
