Obviously the US and Russia both meddle in the affairs and politics of many countries in the world, Ukriane is hardly unique in that respect but ultimately neither of them have been able to control the will of any populous long term. It didn't work for the US in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan and countless others and it didn't work for the Soviet Union in the Eastern block and its not working in Ukriane.

Your nothing but a conspiracy nut if you think Ukriane, a nation of 44 million people, hasnt been able to determine which general direction they want to pursue(the west or Russia). The majority rejected Russian influence and opened up to the west. Some parts of the country did not agree with this, the areas with higher ethnic Russians(naturally) but unfortunately for them THEY ARE THE MINORITY. And by far its not even fucking close. It's disgusting that Putin thinks he owns Ukriane. Ukriane has existed for thousands of years long before the advent of communism and the Soviet Union and they had their own nation, society and culture. It's only because Putin is a egotistical megalomaniac that he thinks Ukriane is naturally suppose to be just a part of Russia, or in the least completely under Russian influence.

The Ukrainians are choosing to fight the Russians. Just like the Vietnamese and the Afghans fought against their invaders. They are choosing to resist the invasion and protesting the occupation all on their own. Just as they preffer to accept American influence over Russian all those years ago.
