Yellow feet

Hi, I am currently having reflexology for subfertility. I have had 7 treatments so far. On the first visit the very first thing the reflexologist noticed was how yellow my feet were. She said I am dirty inside. I only have one kidney (from birth) and apart from the subfertility I am generally healthy.

I have had various herbal tinctures and pills, and I am currently trying some different pills

Has anyone else come across this?

Will the yellow eventually go?

What do you think the cause is?

I am only asking as I am interestedin your views. I do totally trust my reflexologist. I have felt great since starting treatment. And when I do get pregnant I am planning to carry on having treatments.

I am a relatively newcomer to Reflexology and will be keen on the insights of others - my view, for what it is worth, is that the yellowness is as advised - my assumption is that it is a foot-equivalent of a jaundice look caused by the body having only the single kidney, hence having to work rather much harder

I too have picked up on 'sick' feet with a yellowish colour and do work the kidney reflex points amongst others

Hi Jackie,

Not really about your question but thought you might like to know that in Chinese medicine fertility/sub fertility is linked to the kidney meridian. Interesting that you only have one kidney !!

Your one kidney is doing the work of two and so for you it's really important to drink lots and flush out those toxins ~ eat well and the reflexology will help loads.

I have 5 clients at the moment that i'm treating for sub fertility and they all have stagnation and imbalances in their kidney meridian. It normally presents itself as a pretty big reflex in the ear point. (ears are linked to the kidneys in chinese medicine) and runs across the foot diagonally.

i am a new comer to the forum.
I would like to say that Meridianmoon has a great insight into the yellowing.
The kidney hold the potential for life activity and store jing.
Jing is the source of reproduction, development and maturation and they rule birth.

The kidneys are within the water element according to the chinese.
This element is often concerned with fear and anxiety when out of balance.
Due to having the one kidney it will be of great worth for yourself to use meditation techniques to help instill a good level of calm in your thoughts.

Some people's just are yellowish, and especially those who are fair skinned. I would never dream of telling a client that they were dirty inside!

I think what your therapist was trying to say is that there may be toxins present in your body which may be contributing to the yellowing of the skin on the feet.

I agree with the others here - my first thought was were there grains in the liver or kidneys - which would indicate toxins present.. then when I opened the thread you mentioned the one kidney - it's working hard.. are you getting the right fluids and nutrients in your body? This will improve matters greatly if you are deficient ina given area.

What I understand by yellow on the feet is a build up of toxins within the body

Really really interesting what MeridianMoon says about the link between the kidney and fertility on the same meridian line!!!

The colouring of the feet can indicatea lot - yellowing is a sign of toxins built up within the body but if the colour is more orange than yellow this can be an indication of a lot of betacarotene in the body which is a healthy sign and one I've seena lot withmy vegetarian clients.

Hi everyone,

Thankyou all so much for your replies. It all makes interesting reading. I am just learning about the kidneys and how they are linked to fertility. I have only got my right kidney which apparently is the slave to the left one, and as I do not have a left kidney this could explain the build up of toxins in my body. I have always made sure I drink plenty of water and I do eat healthy, so I wonder how this build up could have got so bad.

My feet are more yellow ( colour of urine ) rather than orange. The right foot is more yellow than the left.

I have been trying to get pregnant for almost 9 years and I have recently had a miscarriage.

How long can it take for these toxins to be totally gone from my system?

Is there anything I can do to speed up the proccess?

My late mother had yellow feet all her life, died at 91 and no lingering, heart attack in the night while asleep and never had more than a few day's illness. Her Chiropodist told her that her yellow feet were a sign of strength, and that feet that are lily white are a sign of a 'delicate' disposition.
