HI,
I have a 35yo client whose severe low back pain prevents prolonged stay on her stomach, and she is extremely uncomfortable in the side-lying position (the Sims position with full head, arm and leg support. She said she's not sure what's uncomfortable for her in that position, just that she never lies that way and it's verry uncomfortable; modifications don't seem to help though I'm interested to hear suggestions.) Lying supine is where she's comfortable.
This has made me realize that I don't know how to work the glutes supine, and that I may run into others who would like to be worked supine only. Though I can work a lot of the back supine on her, I've never tried this on the glutes and wondered if anyone has any suggestions or resources...
and, in general, I'd be really interested in techniques that would show me how to work as much of the body as possible supine.
One move I do know for working glutes supine is to pull one knee up and cross it over the body, revealing the glutes....a position some clients can comfortably take, and requiring a fabulous dexterity...
Thank you!!!!!!
