where to buy....???

Hello there,

I just started studying ITEC Massage course and to be honest, left a few things quite late and now I found out that the books recommended for the studies are sold out in shops known to me. Could you please recommend a shop in London where they could still have an Introductory Guide to Anatomy & Physiology by Louise Tucker and also by her The Introduductory Guide to Massage.
Also a shop where they sell massage oils in a bigger quantity (maybe with discount?)?

you can probably order it from a local bookstore or buy it online at amazon or some such.

I got all my books from Amazon (www.amazon.co.uk) very fast delivery, and if your order is more than £25 you get it delivered for free.

Might I suggest you also consider buying other A&P books as well as Louise Tucker? I think you will find that her book, although adequate for the basic knowledge, is not indepth enough for good A&P understanding.

As for the oils, if you have any Asian supermarkets near you, I found they sell good quality Almond Oil at a good price. The Body Shop is, in my opinion, one to avoid as it is very overpriced for basic Carrier oils.

If you do a search for Massage oils, you should find various sites selling good quality carrier oils eg Peach Kernel, ALmond, Grapeseed etc.

Another one of my favourites is www.tuitrading.co.uk which sell Body Waxes for massage - highly recommended.

For medical oriented bookshops in London, try Blackwells and Foyles on Charing Cross Road (the one that has the Astoria on it round the corner from Oxford Street).

For massage oils I'd agree with kpuk about the Tui waxes they are fantastic. Other then that if you want a blended oil try the London Collgege of Massage (www.massagelondon.com) for a nice blend, or if you want just base oils you can try Cosmetic Ingredients in Hove (http://www.cosmetic-ingredients.com/fixvegoil.html) or Aromantic (www.aromantic.com). There are also some Aromatherapy supplies you can use, but I can't remember the names / web sites.

Many thanx to you all for your suggestions -
I really appreciated it.... tomorrow I’ll try the shops and if I am not lucky I’ll order from Amazon and other sites you recommended. I prefer the shops as I usually have troubles to collect the delivery when ordering via net.
Also my A&P teacher agrees with kpuk that L. Tuckers books are not the very best ones though the only ones recognised by ITEC.
