What type of curriculum will I need to endure to become a massage

therapist? I've always had issues in school.? I'm not lazy. However, I want to find a career path that is dependable and is fun/ relaxing that doesn't require 4years to complete. I plan to operate my own business one day as well. I recently started looking into Massage Therapy and let me tell you, I think I found my fit! I realize I will need to get a certificate therefore I am wondering what type of schooling/courses will be involved to achieve the certificate.

You will need to enroll in a massage school. Each school has different requirements. Make sure that you go to an accredited school. It seems like it will take a year to finish the school, depending on your pace (9 to 12 months). One school I read about costs $8000 for a 700-hour program.

The courses include Swedish Massage Theory & Practice, Clinic Orientation, Anatomy & Physiology 1-3 (learning about body systems), Shiatsu, Professional Ethics, Pathology (disease study), Connective Tissue Modalities, Complementary Modalities (study other healing arts to enhance your massage therapy), Business Development, Clinic Practicum (working in a supervised setting), Community Outreach (learn networking skills), and CPR/First Aid.

But. That's just one of the schools near me. A school near you might not have those courses, and it might not have that price. It's really up to you to do research on a massage therapy school near you.
