I always take out 5k with me and any spare 500, 100 or 20's. Always leave any other money at home, with credit/debit cards. Usually okay unless out with Lil !!!

If 1 beer was 100bht that is 15 bottles a day. These guys can drink. Probably includes drinks for the BGs as well as shout outs.

After all my trips I now have a figure of what I spend.
I average 6,500b a day.......my usual stay is around 18 nights.
That covers accomodation, meals, beers, internal flight to BKK & transfers etc to Pattaya, BG's too, some activities like shooting & go karting.
When I was a newbie, I was probably spending another 1,000-2,000 a day...........This was due to being a 2 week millionaire & I let many BG's milk me for LD's & I was tipping way too much.....I was also buying presents for those at home too...(this has pretty much stopped now)

As well as telling them where/when you are going , also get their 24 hour 'international' phone number. Even after giving them all the details , they have 'stopped' my credit card.........twice !!!!

Freephone numbers don't work and 'normal' number will put you through to the typical "press button 1 for........" , which won't actually have a department to sort out your problem. :bangin:

But, that figure includes about 15000thb for rental cars, back and forth to Isaan.

if you eat cheap (and you can do this well)....drink in beer bars....BF a gal from the BB then tip her a reasonable amount it is possible to do this consistently for 5Kbht and under......

BUT....if you like to drink long and hard, party, head off to gogos + nightclubs and stay out most of the night buying drinks for freelancers, your mates etc you can easily double that and more on any night.....

you can easily drop 5K for a meal with a gal including a mediocre bottle of wine down at one of the beachfront restaurants as well.......or alternatively 300-500bht in a nice Thai local place with a beer

I'm sure you'll find your happy medium
