I'm looking into going to U of C after I graduate high school (class of 2012) and I was confused by this:
Either the ACT or SAT Reasoning Tests are required for admission to all programs. For the SAT the higher score of either Critical Reading or Writing will be considered in addition to the score in Math of the SAT Reasoning Test. For admission purposes, Senior Level University Preparatory courses and SAT Subject Tests are grouped as follows:
Group A:
Literature (LR)
Group B:
United States History (UH) and World History (WH)
Group C:
Biology Ecological (E) or Molecular (M), Chemistry (CH), Math Level 1 (1C)/Pre-calculus, Math Level 2 (2C)/Calculus and Physics (PH)
Group D:
French (FR or FL), German (GM or GL), Modern Hebrew (MH), Italian (IT), Latin (LT), Spanish (SP or SL), Chinese (CL) and Japanese (JL) and Korean (KL)
Faculty Admission Criteria
The College Board tests required by faculties accepting students directly from high school are summarized below. (Only one of Math Level 1 or Level 2 may be presented for admission.)
Faculty of Arts (excluding those in Fine Arts)
SAT Reasoning Test or the ACT
Subject from Group C or D**
Subject from Group A**
Subject from Group B, C or D**
Math Level 1 or 2 is required as a prerequisite for courses in the following programs: Archaeology, Economics, Geography and Psychology.
Does this mean I have to have these classes in my senior year schedule, or would it still count if I took them in any of the 3 years prior? Because my school doesn't have a history class for seniors, and I'm not taking Calculus or Physics this year because last year I took Precalculus and AP Chemistry. I'm looking to apply for Psychology. Any answers will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
