THOSE BUSINESSES. YEAH, I SPOKE WITH ONE BUSINESS WHO SAYS THAT THEY ARE VERY FAMILIAR WITH PHOENIX ASIAN MASSAGE AND WHAT HAPPENS HERE. AND THEY WANT TO SHUT DOWN TOO. IT’S RIGHT HERE BEHIND ME. THIS PLACE, AS YOU CAN SEE, IT IS SHUT DOWN NOW. EARLIER TODAY, ALL THE LIGHTS WERE LIT UP AND THEY SAID THEY WERE ACCEPTING CUSTOMERS. DESPITE THE ARRESTS. HELLO. OH, HI THERE. HEY, MY NAME IS CHANTELLE NAVARRO. I’M A REPORTER WITH KOCO. WE ARE RECORDING. I WANTED TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANY COMMENT ON THE RECENT ARRESTS THAT WERE MADE HERE. AND MY ENGLISH IS NOT GOOD. SORRY. WHILE THIS EMPLOYEE AT PHOENIX ASIAN MASSAGE WOULDN’T COMMENT SPECIFICALLY ON WHAT HAPPENED LAST WEEK, POLICE CHARGED 68 YEAR OLD CEO JEN CHEN WITH OPERATING A PLACE FOR OR SOLICITING PROSTITUTION. PROBABLE CAUSE AFFIDAVIT SHOWS AN UNDERCOVER DETECTIVE SHOWED UP AT THE PARLOR FRIDAY WHERE SHE WAS GREETED BY THIS WOMAN, XIAOFEI DONG. SHE’S FACING CHARGES FOR ENGAGING IN PROSTITUTION, LEWDNESS OR ASSIGNATION. THE DETECTIVE SAYS DONG TOOK HIM TO THE BACK, WHERE SHE BEGAN MASSAGING HIM, THEN TOLD HIM TO ROLL OVER, CONTINUED MASSAGING HIM, AND OFFERED ORAL SEX. HE SAID YES. SHE TOLD HIM IT WAS $80 AND HE ARRESTED HER. THESE TWO ARRESTS ARE JUST THE LATEST THAT LEADERS WANT TO PUT AN END TO POLICE SAY TROUBLE IS, A LOT OF TIMES THEY INVESTIGATE THESE PLACES, THEN THE BUSINESSES CHANGE OWNERSHIP AND THEY HAVE TO START THEIR INVESTIGATIONS ALL OVER AGAIN. IT’S IN THE SHADOWS. WE NEED TO BRING IT TO LIGHT. WE NEED TO TURN OFF THE FLICKERING NEON LIGHT, AND WE NEED TO SHINE A LIGHT ON THIS ISSUE. TOM ROBBINS JUST RESIGNED AS CITY COUNCILMAN AND IS NOW RUNNING FOR MAYOR. HE TOGETHER WITH POLICE AND THE ATTORNEY GENERAL’S OFFICE, HELD A TOWN HALL IN LATE SEPTEMBER ON OTHER WAYS TO STOP THIS AND RECOGNIZE THAT HUMAN TRAFFICKING COULD BE INVOLVED AS WELL. ONE PROBLEM THEY FOUND IS A LACK OF LOCAL POWER TO DO SO. WE NEED TO HAVE AN UPDATE IN OUR LAW TO BE ABLE TO GO IN AND BE ABLE TO VERIFY AND CHECK LICENSES. SO RIGHT NOW, THE COSMETOLOGY BOARD HAS ALL THE AUTHORITY AND POWER WHEN IT COMES TO MASSAGE ACROSS THE ENTIRE STATE OF OKLAHOMA. AND ROBBINS SAYS HE’S WORKING WITH LAWMAKERS TO SEE HOW EXACTLY THEY CAN GET A CHANGE IN LAW AND GET SOMETHING WRITTEN UP FOR THIS NEXT LEGISLATIVE SESSION. NOW, SOMETHING I ALSO FOUND WAS A WEBSITE THAT TRACKS MASSAGE PARLORS, OFFERING SEX, AND THEY ACTUALLY HAD THIS PLACE LISTED. THEY HAD MULTIPLE REVIEWS. I FOUND SEVEN REVIEWS JUST FOR THIS PLACE ALONE. AND THE LAST ONE WAS UPDATED JUST YESTERDAY AS WELL.

The Edmond Police Department arrested two women at a massage parlor Friday, continuing efforts to clean up local businesses.The women were arrested at Phoenix Asian Massage on South Coltrane Road for prostitution-related charges. Police charged 68-year-old Xiuzhen Chen with operating a place for soliciting prostitution.A probable cause affidavit shows an undercover detective visited the parlor Friday and was greeted by 56-year-old Xiaofei Deng. Deng faces charges of engaging in prostitution, lewdness or assignation.The detective said Deng took him to the back, began massaging him, told him to roll over, continued massaging him and offered oral sex. He said, "Yes." She told him it was $80, and he arrested her.These two arrests were just the latest in a trend that leaders said needs to end. "It's in the shadows. We need to bring it to light. The Edmond Police Department arrested two women at a massage parlor Friday, continuing efforts to clean up local businesses.

The women were arrested at Phoenix Asian Massage on South Coltrane Road for prostitution-related charges.

Police charged 68-year-old Xiuzhen Chen with operating a place for soliciting prostitution.

A probable cause affidavit shows an undercover detective visited the parlor Friday and was greeted by 56-year-old Xiaofei Deng. Deng faces charges of engaging in prostitution, lewdness or assignation.

The detective said Deng took him to the back, began massaging him, told him to roll over, continued massaging him and offered oral sex.

He said, "Yes." She told him it was $80, and he arrested her.

These two arrests were just the latest in a trend that leaders said needs to end.
