WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – West Springfield and Westfield Police are investigating two massage parlors for alleged sex trafficking within the businesses.

West Springfield detectives along with Homeland Security conducted a search warrant on Wednesday around noon at 68 Westfield Street, the location is a business called Clover Spa & Massage. The search warrant comes from a months-long investigation into the business and its practices.
Police are investigating for the following reasons:
During the search warrant, three women employees between the ages of 35 and 51 from Flushing and Brooklyn, New York were inside as well as a 23-year-old man from the area. Police say all of these people are cooperating with the investigation and criminal charges are pending at this time.
In a statement to 22News, Mayor Will Reichelt says he received complaints from residents about this location operating as more than a massage parlor, he added he passed that info along to police.
Westfield Police have arrested two people who own the Southampton Road Massage and Body Work following an investigation into alleged sex trafficking.
An investigation into the business on 282 Southampton Road found that workers were allegedly performing sexual services for a fee. The employees were allegedly not being paid and only allowed to keep any tips they received. Police say the workers would be swapped out for new workers every few weeks.
The owners, Todd and Baushun Simonds, were arrested after a search of the massage parlor and their home in Holyoke. They have been charged with the following:
Police also seized several unsecured firearms inside their home and the two will likely face additional charges.
According to the clerk’s office at Westfield District Court, Todd and Baushun Simonds were arraigned Thursday and ordered held on $5,000 bail. They are due back in court on March 1st.
