Trivia anatomy question... (mnemonics)

[Due May 27th 2010]

Our class has become quite good at coming up with rymes, word associations and even songs to help us learn anatomy. I'll have to make a list and post them someday (right now I'm to busy studying)!

Here's a little anatomy trivia question:

Breakfast at 7, Lunch at 12 and Dinner at 5 refers to what anotomical structure?

Ooh!  I feel like "Horshack" from Welcome Back Kotter... *hehe*Spine (vertebrae).  7 cervical, 12 thoracic, 5 lumbar... breakfast, lunch, dinner... top, middle bottom.  (Just wondering where the sacrum and coccyx are in all of this.... or... maybe I am totally wrong!)hehehe.... I've never actually done very well at riddles.... I think I impressed myself!

On Old Olympic Towering Tops A Finn And German Viewed Some Hops

I know this one! It's the 12 cranial nerves (Olfactory, Optic, Oculomotor, Trochlear, Trigeminal, Abducens, Facial, vestibulocochlear [used to be called something else that starts with/an A], Glossopharyngeal, vagus, Accessory, Hypoglossal) ;DI have three different text books which lists the above as the names of the 12 cranial nerves. I'm sure some sources may have different names. We learned the rhyme or song the same way as Nybor7 did except the last part which we learned as ". . .a Fin and German viewed a hawk."Nybor7, I haven't figured out the answers to your other two rhymes (riddles), yet.  :-/I'll be watching to see if someone else knows them.Greatkat, I do know the answer to your unrepeatable limerick. It's representative of the 12 main meridians and their proper order.

Aaah, I wasn't the first one with the cranial nerves answer.  I see that Palpable posted the correct answer while I was still writing my post.

Alrighty then, I'll answer Palpable and Texas-gal's trivia quesion: Send Larry, Tommy and Paul To The Cat House

We learned it as a stretch, when you abduct the leg at the hip joint, these muscles are being stretched. (I think these are right from memory, I'm at work so I don't have my anatomy book, so some may be wrong.)(G) Gluteus Minimus(M) Adductor Magnus(L) Adductor Longus(B) Bicep Femoris(P) PectineusSomeone please correct me if I'm wrong, I feel almost stupid since graduating school a year ago.

That's what my teacher told me when I told the class what it could stand for,  . You'd have loved our class, I shared many stories about the interesting people I've met in my life, and found I have some things in common with my teacher that I really didn't need to know about. She also tried to convert me to her religion on a daily basis, and even tried to get my friend to go to church so that I would go (maybe she thought I would follow others, like a child would do?). Made for interesting debates, and interesting conversations.
