Tinnitus

Has anyone had good results treating clients with tinnitus?

Hi Siobhan. Myself and Andrew (Anahata) have discussed this and decided that we had to take this claim off the Indian Head Massage leaflet that one of therapists had done.

I can only say that tinnitus is incredibly hard to get rid of and I personally don't believe that Indian Head Massage could do it at all. I do think that some people have success with various methods, depending on what is causing the tinnitus, but no, IMO there is no way that IHM can get rid of tinnitus. If only it were that easy and all those who suffer from this distressing condition could sort it that easily.

Would have to say that I dont think IHM should lay claim to this.....anaemia can be a cause of tinitus if thats not been explored..

Hi you two!

I was thinking more of alleviating rather that getting rid of, since tinnitus seems to be regarded by the medical profession as incurable. The anaemia link is interesting. Tinnitus is listed by the people who trained me as a condition that may benefit from IHM, hence my question.

I would think any alleviation would come from the pure relaxation side of things and not from noise level it that makes sense, ie; helps with more relaxation and therefore maybe less noticeable????



Did you ask if they had any cases studies I did when I did mine and they did even though it was only one but this was relevant to stroke and Facial Rejuv so not appropriate here...

Hi I have used hypnotherapy with clients with tinitus and had some good results.

IHM didn't help my tinnitus.

You'll all have to type LOUDERwhen replying to me.

I suppose I'm lucky because it doesn't affect me very badly, although my wife says I'm going deaf. I think, in her case, it's selective by me.

Mmmm....well I doubt very much they can lay claim to this. Sadly there are many about who think that they can say anything. Therapists and teachers.

As I mentioned, one our therapists had this on his leaflet and we took it off. We have to be VERY careful about what we say, especially where the medical profession are concerned. And to be honest, the public too. I would never make such a claim to anybody with this condition. If you think about it...it is SO hard to alleviate, don't you think all the sufferers would be lining up for an IHM? Doubtful.[&:]
