has anybody tried doing a theme (luau party, mardi gras..) for their office chair massage?  I have my 1st office visit next week.  when I learned chair massage, we listened to reggae music the whole weekend.  I thought it flowed really well.  regular massage music can put people to sleep, chair massage is supposed to rejuvinate! I am planning on bringing a few cutouts to hang and offer a lei as each person is done with their massage.  (going with the luau party theme)has anybody tried something like this?  thanks much

Hey sacguy..It sounds like fun and you might just be on to something!!..Bringings a twist/flair with a "theme"..I would think itkeeps things interesting with the right theme..shows creativity..Let us know how it goes..I landed 2 corp gigs my self starting this month.1 is with an ampitheatre..They are trying to add some flair to their VIP Club members, so I'll be providing chair massage at all of their events from April to September..Ofcourse, I'll be prepared to market Corporate Chair massage to potential clients while I'm there..The other is for the president of a credit union who wants to reward her staff for "Professional Secretaries/Admin's Week"..which is last week of this month..15 people!!.So I've been thinking and continuing to check out this forum...I'm going to start marketing chair massage on a serious basis..I am contracted with a Medical Spa and Fitness Spa, but both are new(just opened in the last year) and business is slow..So I'm thinking..chair massage is an excellent way to get more clientele to experience my touch and most likely some will want to make an appointment with me where ever I am AND I could possibly land some monthly or quarterly accounts...I'm going to keep my options open!!..I really think your idea of "themed" sessions is good..especially in an office, having worked in corporate america 24 years..I know I would appreciate knowing my mgmt paid for a massage, but to walk into a conference room and get a little of "hawaii" or the illussion that I was on a real vacation would definetly catch my attention..I would definetly be open to receiving the treatment AND would be impressed with the creativity of the therapist AND would make an appointment for a 1 hour table session..Please keep us posted!!And have fun!

Themes? what a SuPER idea, sacguy!  That's exceptional customer service, imo - and I am willing to bet that this 1st gig won't be your last!"when I learned chair massage, we listened to reggae music the whole weekend. آ I thought it flowed really well. آ regular massage music can put people to sleep, chair massage is supposed to rejuvinate!"I am glad that your school realizes the importance of this service enough to reserve it a whole weekend of instruction.  We had a mandatory chair event to do within weeks of starting class and we were given a 15-minute demonstration at the end of class one day. boom. We didn't have any music, let alone reggae (cool!)  There is a unit for seated massage posted online in our "distance" learning area, and the requirements for passing this section are to demonstrate to one of the instructors the set up and break down of each of the 3 models of chairs and do a mock presentation/sales pitch to "sell" a company on the benefits of having regular chair massage for its employees.danema, you are absolutely right: chair massage is the best way to market yourself.

thanks so much for the replys and sorry for the late update!  The chair session went great!! although...the reggae music didn't work as well as I had hoped.  i picked the most mellow songs, but it was still just a little too upbeat for some people to relax.  I had brought some backup plan music and switched to a cool mellow hawaiian cd that was a big improvement.  quiet, tropical, without being sleepy   I had a another therapist with me and we both wore hawaiian shirts and passed out a lei after each person received their massage.   the decorations looked great and were easy to put up and down.  such a good response, I was invited back in 2 weeks instead on the next month!!guy

I had a another therapist with me and we both wore hawaiian shirts and passed out a lei after each person received their massage.   the decorations looked great and were easy to put up and down.

Ah, see... bet those who decided Not to get a massage that day were like, "What the heck is going on in there? Everybody comes out relaxed, wearing a goofy smile and a lei?"  They were probably all really jealous and sorry they hadn't taken the time to book one too!

So, will the next one be Hawaiian as well? Or will you choose a different theme?

Oriental theme? (Koto music, Asian decorations and plastic glasses filled with water and a piece of fresh fruit with a little paper umbrella? LOL)

Latin theme? (Spanish Guitar/Acoustic guitar music, water with lemon/limes in colorful plastic glasses... an inexpensive yet bright flower to take back to their desk or tuck behind an ear? LOL)

How often will you change your theme?
