Thai Massage - What Course?

Can anyone advise me on Thai Massage courses - what to look for when choosing a course,and can anyone recommend any to me? Prices and length of the courses vary tremendously!

Simon Gall did a sort of "round UK" thing this year and I went to the course in York it was 4 very full on days - but I really enjoyed it. The fifth day was Thai Foot Massage which was an additional cost - but that was good as well.

Hi FB - thats actually where a friend of mine did her training! Its the most cost effective and I think and two recommendations is a great start! The others seemed very expensive and were approx 16days, so I was wondering how LSTM could do the shorter ones and people still become practitioners. I take it after the 5 days you are ableto start treating people in your practice/clinic, insured and everything?

My friend's massage was fantastic and it inspired me! She did the foot one as well but hasn't tried it on me yet!

Hi CatyH,

After the 4 day Thai Body Massage course - you do 10 massage case studies (5 people 2x) making sure that there is a mix i.e. older, younger, male & female.

Then you go back for a 1 day exam that consists of a practical, a written test and an oral. You get to know on the day whether you have passed - then when you get your certificate you can obtain your insurance. FHT insures for this course as does IPTI, so I shouldn't think you would have any problem.

I strongly recommend you organise a Thai Foot Massage treatment - it is seriously wonderful or as we say FAB'ulous (FAB are my initials)

It definately sounds like a great course, think I'll have to do it next year for sure! I do onsite massage as well so anything I can offer where people can keep their clothes on is great, and the foot massage is something a little bit different (you use sticks don't you??) so clients will love that!
