TAYLORVILLE, Ill. (WICS) — The city of Taylorville has joined other central Illinois communities in requiring massage parlors to obtain a license to operate.
This decision follows a recent sting operation by Taylorville police, which resulted in the arrest of a worker at the Lotus Massage Parlor for soliciting sexual activity.
The ordinance was passed during the city council meeting on Monday. Taylorville's mayor said the new licensing requirement is expected to take effect on May 1.
