Swiss Reflex Treatment

Hi Everyone

In the Shirley Price Aromatherapy Workbook, she mentions a treatment called Swiss Reflex Treatment, something she developed herself. I was wondering if anyone has any more details on the subject. Can you only learn the technique by doing her own Bodywork Certificate.

Hi Amanda

Swiss Reflexology is reflexology using essential oils. Obviously you have to be a qualified Aromatherapist to be able to use oils during a reflexology treatment. There are some specific videos (think i have seen them on ebay) not sure about books or courses though.

As Yasmin says Swiss reflex is similar to standard reflexology but in stead of using the caterpillar movement you use a series of deep circular motions across the foot, you can do this with or without essential oils but yes it was primarily developed as a combined aromatherapy/reflexology form of foot treatment

I was taught this on a clinical aromatherapy foundation course many years ago and still use it in my massage treatments as part of a general foot massage

Hi Amandas,
There is a very cheap video called 'Swiss Reflex', of which I have a copy. If you are in London, I have seen it for only 3.99 downstairs in Tower Records, Piccadilly. Or it's about 6 pounds on Amazon I think. The demos are about 15 mins on 5 different clients.
