Subfertility and Childbirth Reflexology

I'm treating a 30 year old who has been trying to conceive for approx 8 months. She doesn't want to take the medical route yet. She used the ovulation predictors and nothing registered so I think she may not be ovulating. I've asked her to use the basal body temperature method to see if she is. Does anyone know if these predictors ussually work or any other advice for infertility.

Also I have a lady 40 weeks pregnant. Any advice for stimulating labour. I worked the pituitary well and the repro's. Also for pain releif and helping progress of labour.

Hi Jan - the infertility lady - just curious - are applying a continuous 6 day or so daily treatment during her ovulation time.

Stimulating labour - also perhaps combine & use a little relaxation too, solar plexus etc ... Stimulation - hypothalamus, pituitary, uterus, spine, lungs, try ovaries - ( for release of hormone ' relaxin ' although i dont think it is known if relaxin is released via the ovaries or placenta during pregancy )

The predictor sticks are incredibly accurate they signal the 24 hours before ovulation sometimes though people can appear to ovulate quite late in their cycle.......temperature can be a bit dodgy especially in this weather........has she a history of irregular or light periods query polycystic ovaries or any history in the family??????

Yes she does have light periods, another non ovulating indicator.
Has reflexology been known to restore ovulation. I know it is good for hormone rebalancing, but is it effective enough.

I think I will offer some short daily treatments on the relevant reflexes in between full weekly treatments.

Will let you know progress.

More advice very welcome please.

Also pregnant lady now overdue and they are threatening induction as the baby is small. She is very well although impatient, no oedema. Her blood pressure has been low/normal all through and baby not distressed, I feel they should give her another week with baby beeing monitored, after all before inductions some pregnancies lasted several weeks over.

Any advice re stimulating labour very welcome.

My first pregnancy was helped along with clomid to get me ovulating and the second was natural (as is often the case with polycystic ovaries within a year of the first birth).....reflexology can be great with fertility problems but I dont have any direct knowledge of inducing ovulation......but i do believe it can be done....

Re the induction......the reason they want to induce at 40+ is because the placenta starts to deterioate quite quickly if the baby is small she is not going to be helped by a poorly functioning placenta and for her safety i would go with the induction, if the baby was larger i dont think its so much of a problem to wait.......there are certain points you can use to promote labour but you would be better having a look at where the points are in a book as opposed to me trying to explain them to you!!!! also be careful if you have not done a reflexology in pregnancy course - will your insurance cover you?
