I had hoped to attend Taya Countryman's class on "Structural Relief Therapy" at the AMTA National Convention, but I got my 2nd choice class for that time slot instead. However, I was given a copy of her course binder/handout and went through it thoroughly. So far as I can tell, it is a variation on traditional Strain Counterstrain, but she states that it is a blend of two osteopathic methods. So, aside from SCS, what is the other osteopathic method she has incorporated?
Is anyone here trained in Structural Relief Therapy? If so, are sessions done clothed or with conventional draping? How do you integrate it with massage, or do you just practice it as a standalone method? Are the therapist positions and techniques practiced solely as shown in the course handout, or what kind of instruction in varying the method for different body types and positions?
