STRATFORD โ A New York man working at a massage parlor here was arrested after police said he sexually assaulted a female customer.
Peng Gao, 31, of Flushing, N.Y., was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and failure to have a massage license.
He was released after posting $25,000 bond.
Gao is employed as a massage therapist at Angelโs Art Nails and Spa on Hawley Lane in Stratford.
Police said a 41-year-old local woman recently went to the spa for a massage and to get her nails done.
The woman went into a massage room and disrobed, covering her body with a towel. She then lay face down on the table, police said.
Police said when Gao entered the room, the woman told him she just wanted a back rub. But, police said, during the massage Goa went beyond the womanโs request, continuing to touch her. The woman got off the table, police said.
The woman complained to the manager about Gaoโs actions while she was getting a manicure, police said.
When officers later questioned Gao, police said, he denied sexually assaulting the woman but said that he did not have a massage license.
