I'm done. Not done as in done with school yet (for the second time actually; short story: school then NCE in NJ, but moved to upstate NY, had to start over). I graduate from a 2 year associates program this coming May. Then I study all summer for the state boards, not given until August. Then maybe have my NY state license by October.

I am just done with the pressure and the jumping through hoops and the tests and the DRAMA. I feel like I've been traveling on this course forever and I just want to be finished and get to work already. As of this January, I have been pursuing becoming a professional massage therapist for five years.

Thanks for the support and offer of help. I don't think my issue is NY-specific... I knew what I was getting myself into when I chose the school with the longest program.

Interestingly enough, I think I'm finding some answers in other recent posts in the student forum... specifically the one regarding energy work. I work Friday in my student clinics. We did three weeks of Swedish on our assigned clients and yesterday was our first week of doing shiatsu. Usually I come home energized from massaging all day; this Friday I was physically drained and emotionally raw.

I'm doing some reading on the helpful links about grounding and centering and that is helping.
