This is the second place robbed in the past week that I know of. Owners.. beware and be careful

Isn't this where the cameras come in handy??? I think that the next set of would-be robbers should take that into consideration and stick with a gas station....or better yet, get a job??

A door lock would come in handy too. Still don't understand why by-law prohibits locks on doors.

It would appear that the golden age of massage parlours are

over, now dangerous for MPA's and clients, recent events in

Markham and now the West End make conditions risky for

MPA's and recent LE pressure make it risky for clients....tension

are the antithesis of the purpose of a relaxing massage

If you are able to lock the doors to the SPA, then you can essentially set up a brothel in the guise of an MP. When the inspectors or police show up, you simply alert the girls/clients of their presence, everyong puts their clothes back on and goes about their business...

This seems to work really well, because we alll know that there's no illegal activity taking place in any of the licensed spas...

lomotil. my business gets robbed from time to time. It doesn't mean that I need to close down. It just means that we need better means of security. Locked doors should be allowed as long as it isn't a fire hazard. (easily opened from the inside)

LE is not that stupid that they don't know which MPs offer illegal services. If we could figure it out, they can also. Locked doors are just an excuse to take away permits. The MPs should get together and get this rule changed.

There are many business out there that lock their doors. By appointment only is their policy, or sometime they don't have enough staff to guard the front. Even variety stores sometimes lock their doors when they take a washroom break.

As much as the gov. is against MPs, they need to look at the safety of the ones that are operating legally and change the rules so that the chances of anybody getting hurt or robbed is reduced.

Totally agree with fryingdgn. It seems that the gov. or police doesn't care about safety in MPs. If any other group of business is being treated this way, there will certainly be an uproar. Where are the special interest groups when we need them?

Spas should have a double door where the second/inner one is locked.......Oh Wait, that's against the bylaws isn't it!

Unfortunately, these are cash business so are potential targets. Next time you see a video camera behind the desk pointing at the door and/or cash register don't get panicky and post a thread about cameras in spas.

Sorry for the rant but the bylaws need to be changed to allow the spas to add security and these guys make a spa and attendants jittery that just spoils this hobby for us if you get an attendant that can't relax.
