I love it when I'm sore after a workout, so its always a GOOD kind of hurt, but I still want to alleviate some of the soreness. I can't even straighten my arms right now my biceps/triceps are so sore! I don't always work out this hard, i'm just getting back into my routine after baby #2. I don't always rip myself up like this.
I've heard of getting a massage to alleviate soreness. Is that true? Medically, it doesn't seem very possible. Sure when people used to think it helped break up the lactic acid, but now studies say that the soreness is actually caused by micro-tears in your muscle that need to heal.
I know when my muscles are sore, I BEG my husband to massage me, but its never enough. If I get a professional massage, will it just kill me? Will it actually make me feel better?
There's a massage school nearby for $35, so i'm not worried about the cost.
