Skin cancer

Is it ok to massage someone who has skin cancer??? I didn't know what to look for, and I didn't see anything that caused me concern, but when we were almost finished with the session, he mentioned that he had skin cancer, and said, "that's not a problem is it??" I'm not sure if I should have massaged him or not???

I'm not an MT but someone who does have skin cancer. At this point there is nothing you can do BUT if you see this client again I would think you would need to know some things: 1) what seforum.xxxe melanoma does this person have? 2) This client should get a doctors note giving you the ok to massage him/her (some oncologist' believe that melanoma can be spread through the lymph system during a massage. It's better to protect yourself in case this client should progress with the cancer) 3) you need to know if the client has any enlarged lymph nodes so that you can stay away from them.

Thank you, momto4boys, for your reply. I appreciate your help. I have looked at the web site you provided. It was very helpful. I will discuss this with my client further so we can decide on the next step. I was reviewing his client intake form, and he did not mark "cancer" as a health concern, so I definitely need to check this out with him further and have him contact his doctor to make sure we can continue.
