skin brushing

Has anyone incorporated "dry skin brushing" into their massage practice? I have been considering doing this, but now sure where I can learn the techniques.

If any of you have done this, I'd appreciate if you could share with me your technique (or where you learned) how much you charged, and how it fared for you.

I don't use this technique, but have received it during a massage. I didn't like it at all, so I guess that's why I don't use it on others. It just felt really odd to me and now when I think about it, I wonder about the hygiene of it ----- how is the brush cleaned between clients, etc?

Have you experienced this for yourself and do you like it?

I tried it on my husband and he really enjoyed it, and I've experimented on myself, and liked it too. Im not too versed in the technique I want to wait until I can research it more before I add it to my Massage practice.

We offer dry brushing as a form of exfolliation. Clients can combine it with either massage or a wrap or it can be just a stand alone treatment.

Massage warehouse currently has the brushes on sale for $1.50 and at that price you can afford to just give the brush away to the client after using it. The seminar where I learned body treatments taught that you could just throw the brushes in the washing machine along with your linens to sanitize them. I've never felt comfortable doing that (the brushes are natural bristles and I thought that the washing powders might be too harsh) so I clean them in the sink with good ole soap and hot water.

We incorporate aromatherapy by sprinkling several drops of an EO on the brush.

As to whether people like it or not, it's a personal preference. I enjoy being brushed but prefer salt glows. My boss on the other hand absolutely loves being brushed!
