shower gel

Can any of you kind souls pass on some tips for making own shower gel? I've just bought one from boots which is organic and full of EO but woah!! the price of it and it's little more than a thimbleful. Have you used good base shower gel and if so - where did it come from and then what did you add other than the EO ie: any vitamin e oil etc....

i've just about perfected a great face cream from a base...by adding vitamin e, borage oil as well as my EOs. However, the last shower gel i made at college was v. diappointing and with its slightly creamy gunky colour it looked like something unmentionable...

You could try Baldwins (who do mail order). I think their base products are very good, and reasonably priced. Have added e-oils (bergamot, melissa, and anything citrus are my favourites)

For me, a winner combo for my personal shower gel is lemon, ginger, rosemary and a few drops of myrrh - a real eye opener in the mornings ;-)

For the bath or in the evenings its Roman Chamomile, rosemary, lavender and frankincense

can I ask a stupid question?
What do you store your shower gel in? I presume you buy the base and then make it up with your own oils, but what do you put it in then? Or do you just add those oils to the whole litre? Thanks

hi

not a silly question at all. i'm not going to put it in the litre bottle i've just received...i've just washed out a used carrier oil bottle which is 150ml and more manageable for the shower. but you can buy single empty bottles from beauty warehouse places - we've got two in derby so check internet for yours - and they're around 50-80p depending on what you want. if you want more than that quantity - the internet is the place for multiples and you can get some really nice brown and blue empty bottles. it's also nice to run off a printed label but make sure it's a waterproof label otherwise it doesn't last long.

i like the morning 'brew' blend by the way...cannot wait to get making it up and going to put a slug of arnica oil in it for colour, scent and because i've always got bruises

many small pharmacy shops will sell you individual empty 100ml or 150ml amber bottles. Lloyds offer them for about 50p.
If you still can't find them, then essentiallyoils.com below is a decent bet at about the same price with free p&p - their June specials currently offer 25 bottle for 20% discount - in case you have other friends and reletives to pamper ;-)
