Fresh whole foods for breakfast, have a protein snack on hand for after sessions (pregnancy feels much better with this going on!), deep breathing for a few minutes, stretch all the meridians, a little prayer that I may bring my client what s/he needs during this session. ย Also when I wake up, I like to lie in bed feeling the baby kick and watching the sun start the day -- the light on the few remaining leaves these days is gorgeous and centering.I find that a little prep the day before in the office makes the self-care go even farther -- charts pulled and in order, previous session notes reviewed, reminder calls made, CDs selected for each client, table made up and ready, linens for each subsequent session chosen and ordered, lotion bottles topped up, laundry out of the office. ย When all I have to do on arrival is turn on the CD and begin self-care, everything goes much better.
