Reflexology for Cancer Client Tips Please?

I am about to start treating a client (one of my best freinds in fact) who has recently been diagnosed with Aggresive Non Hodgekins Lymphoma & is undergoing chemotherapy (sp).

I wanted to hear from any Relexologists that have treated cancer clients and what they feel would be useful for me to know, take on board or practise.

Clearly it is contra-indicated, however, I have managed to get permission from his consultant.

Hi Roger,

If you have the consultant's permission - go for it.

We have been treating a sufferer with Non-hodgkins Lymphoma (not aggressive at the moment) and we give her a full Reflexology treatment.

I would however suggest that, because your client is having chemotherapy, you treat him very gently. He will be in need of rest and relaxation from the effects of the Chemo. Even a gentle treatment will discover energy imbalances and give you the opportunity of - gently - balancing his system.

Dear Roger, first of all I wish you all the very best with your client/friend. It can be so pleasant and soothing for a very sick person to have a caring treatment, and hopefully it will help with the side effects of treatment. The fact that it's from a friend is great - could be a lovely bonding experience for both of you.
