Reflexology and Insurance

I have recently qualified as a reflexologist and would love to get started in business as soon as possible. I am hoping initially to work in my local area and travel to clients houses. Any ideas on where the best place to get public liability insurance please??!!

My insurance is through the IGPP and also Babtac but there are loads of places, most of the organisations that deal with comp. therapies offer insurance or you can just phone your local broker and see what they come up with...

You need to make yourself a member of an organisation such as AOR Association of Reflexologists or FHT (Federation of Holistic Therapists ) and get insurance with them, but it depends on what qualification you have is it AOR, ITEC or VTCT? Some Reflexology organisations will only except certain qualifications. My insurance is with FHT. I don't think an ordinary broker would deal with insurance for Reflexologists. I remember asking an ordinary broker when I first qualified and they practically had to stifle a laugh down the phone.

you dont need to join an organisation, although if you do, they will have insurance. it all depends on your budget.

i am insured with professional beauty... 44 quid or so for £2m etc. and they accept most exam qualifications whereas the organisations get sniffy about it if you didnt qualify with them.

Hi,
I qualified with the AOR and take their insurance it covers me for all my therapies and at about £40 for 5million cover I think its good value for money!

SMG provide cover for therapists, cant remember the web address but they have an online application form.

I'm with SMG too. It's one of the insurers recommended by the IIR.
