Recomendation for massage course without A&P??

Hiya,

Can anyone recommend a holistic massage course that:-

a) doesn't require ITEC A&P as a pre-requisiste; or
b) doesn't also teach A&P with the course.

I hold hold an A&P LEvel 3 equivalent qualification with Kevala and have also revisited A&P during my AoR Reflexology course, so I think I have a good grounding in A&P and don't really want to do it all over again

I do not where you are in the country but Barnet College does this course w/o A&P as does Middlesex school of comp medicine - they are in rickmansworth. i think Stanmore college and Harrow college might do it too.

Hi, it is worth approaching schools that are offering a course you are interested in and asking them if they will waive you from the A&P section of the course. Some places will do this if they recognise the A&P knowledge you already have. Good luck

Hi Sarah,

Inspire Massage Workshops do a great ITEC Holistic Massage course in Londonand they offer A&P seperately, so you can take just the massage part if you already have a suitable A&P qualification.

I had started an A&P and Massage course a couple of years ago with another school, but I got pregnant during the course and decided not to continue with the practical massage stuff because I felt too tired and sick for all the physical work, so I just did the A&P.

Anyway, I finished the A&P course and passed the exam before I had my baby, then a few months back I started the Holistic Massage course with Inspire. It worked out much cheaper because I didn't need to take the A&P again. Also I think it worked out for the best because Inspire's massage course was A MILLION TIMES BETTER than the one I started 2 years ago!

Anyway hope you enjoy whatever course you end up doing!

Hi ya Sarah

If you have a A&P qualification that is exceptable to ITEC, then you shouldn't have to do it again. If a college says you have to do it again, then dump them. It's just a way of making more money. I'm sure what you have A&P wise is fine and dandy! (Trust me I teach ITEC).
