I've just qualified under VTCT in holistic therapy which included swedish, aroma plus more & I can say that even though the massages are similar there is a difference & you would learn a different routine.
Aroma massage works with the lymph & circulation a lot more...instead of hacking etc there is more effleurage type movements & the order is different (you start on the back in aroma)
If the courses you've seen ask for you to redo swedish massage, I know some of the folk in my class who already had swedish, did not need to do all the work & were able to link back to their previous qualifications.
A& P is part & parcel. It might be good to refresh? I know I've already forgotten a lot of it already!
As for the price, some of the oils are FAR from cheap (google rose oil for example). Since there is such a range of oils you have to use within the case studies the colleges must spend a small fortune buying in stock each year (at the college I went to there was a high level of theft & they needed to restock the oils regularly) so it's understandable that they can be quite expensive, plus with the cut in funding, the colleges need to make money somehow. They are businesses at the end of the day.
Hope you find something that suits you
