I used to have a prescription for massage where I did like 15 dollar co pays for a massage and then I have an hour massage which was great. However I am currently covered by insurance till I'm 25 under family and they switched to another provider Traditional (Boeing plan)..
It only supposedly covers it if it is physical therapy. Regence the other one I had seemed to be less strict and I don't think they had a rule about this.
Can I just bill it as physical therapy, because that is kind of what it is because I'm constantly having upper back tension and pain? Sometimes shoulders, neck back lower back etc.. I've had this since my spinal surgery 10 years ago.. .
I miss my once or twice a week massages. You may think that is kind of like being spoiled, but it took away the tension and the pain without having to use medications such as muscle relaxants that I'm trying to avoid.
If not I may have to have a talk with my family to get me back under Regence and possibly help them out with the difference.
